Politicians and business groups call for sustained transport investment
Members of the Transport East Forum from across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock have jointly written to the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak and Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps.
The letter highlights how the East of England is a net contributor to the Exchequer and how it is crucial to delivering the Prime Minister’s 10-point plan for a Green Industrial Revolution.
It emphasises the vast green energy investment planned around the east coast, the innovative and diverse economy and the region’s global connections through the many ports and airports.
It seeks financial support to improve the region’s crucial links through the pipeline of transport projects identified in our Investment and Delivery Plan.
