Have your say on the future of transport in the East

We have developed a draft regional Transport Strategy and are now inviting you to have your say by completing our public consultation.

Covering Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock, the ambitious strategy sets a series of priorities for better transport for everybody living, working, and learning in the region up to 2050.

The strategy, which will guide future transport investment in the East, has been developed following extensive analysis of technical evidence and talking with the public and our partners to make sure it aligns with local ambitions and needs.

Our eight-week public consultation is open from Thursday, 2 December 2021 until Sunday, 30 January 2022. We have not made any final decisions, and this is your chance to help us improve our draft strategy and shape the future of transport in the region.

Find out more and give your views

You can take part in the public consultation by completing our online consultation survey.

Before completing the survey, we strongly recommend that you find out more about our draft Transport Strategy by visiting our virtual exhibition which is available throughout the consultation period so you can visit and explore at a time to best suit you.

The exhibition contains all of the information and materials you would expect to find at a traditional consultation event.

Alternatively, we have a consultation brochure and easy read version, which are available via the links below and within the virtual exhibition. Printed copies are available upon request by emailing transporteastconsultation@jacobs.com.

Alongside the draft Transport Strategy, we have developed a draft Investment and Delivery Programme - an evolving programme of projects which will set out our investment priorities to Government.

As part of our consultation, we also want your views on the draft Investment and Delivery Programme and our proposed approach to identifying and prioritising projects.

Finally, we are required to consult on our Integrated Sustainability Appraisal (ISA), which has been carried out to inform and improve the Transport Strategy. The ISA is a process for assessing social, economic and environmental impacts of strategies and projects. It helps make sure sustainable development principles underpin the strategy, to protect the environment and improve people’s health and equality. We also have a shorter summary of the ISA available.
